Sinopsis

Asturias needs to be visited for it to be understood and enjoyed, because it escapes both word and picture. It is true that no land is easily captured by expressions, but Asturias less so than any other. Asturias is plural even in its name, and such lands requiere a visit from the traveler to be understood. Despite Ortega's analysis, it is an isolated, simple, beutiful and transitive land. Its landscapes are contrasting, from snow to sea in a distance of just over 5 leagues, and from the wild torrent of the river at its source to the calm of the estuary in which it joins the sea. And in its ways of life, from the headstock of the mine to the exotic Indiano house among palm trees. And in its aesthetics, from the horses of Tito Bustillo to the murals of Salime.
We shall approach this land lightly, with brief words and caressing images, a prelude of the consummated love that shall unavoidably occur afterwards.
